The world is small!

Wisdom says: «The world is small». That might be true even more these days, with modern technology and the advanced resources and technical tools available.

Last summer while blogging in the internet, we met by chance with Fotini Eleftheriadou after 18 years of silence. We have met in Cyprus, where her husband George served in 1990 as a military officer. We became good friends and there are beautiful memories. Despite the friendly feelings and initial contact we haven’t met since then. Fotini has spent a few years in Canada. The Internet however brought us back together again.

How we met!!!
Phivos, do you remember me?

Phivos -
What a wonderful story!!! I have a similar one in fact. Just before Christmas a LONG LOST distant COUSIN with whom I'd lost contact as a teenager randomly found me on the internet - saw my photo and knew it was ME even though I was listed by my nom de plume. She emailed, suggesting we get our mothers into contact, ending a decades long feud, et voila, family was reunited thanks to the internet.
I'm so happy for you and your friend to have reconnected!

JamanFou.

The world is so small... I have met Phivos 18 years ago in the bank he worked and where I went to ask some information about a mortgage. We talked for a while and we arranged a meeting with our families. It was a friendship that started that day and I strongly believe it will last for the rest of our life.
I have lived in 4 countries, I have raised 3 children and I have met people from different countries and cultures and the friendships with them connects me with all these happy memories which consist the puzzle of my life.
Internet helped me to find Phivos and his family and it approved that connects people who have separated by the games that life plays with them.
Maria Tzirita, there is no way to not meet each other now. Soon we will have the opportunity to hug each other again.
Phivo, thank you for the surprise. The world is so beautiful, big and amazing but the hearts of the people when touch each other make it small and happy.

It really is such a lovely story and I wish all the best for you and your families in the furture!

I actyually knew very little about Cyprus until recently and had had no idea about the sad seperation...
Well, perhaps this is also something that can be worked out soon...

Anyway, It was nice to find your blogs, especially, because you also are an author. (I'm also a writer/artist)
